Estonian Business School participated in the Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves state visit to the Republic of Finland
The state visit of the President of the Republic of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Mrs Evelin Ilves to the Republic of Finland took place from 12 to 14 May 2014. The President was accompanied by a business delegation of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with approximately 40 entrepreneurs, including the Head of Estonian Business School in Helsinki Sigrid Lainevee.
During three days the delegation visited the Confederation of Finnish Industries and the Helsinki City Council Hall which hosted a business seminar with a panel discussion of entrepreneurs and presidents from both countries. There were also additional sector based meetings and meetings between the representatives of different enterprises.
„Such visits provide a good overview of the collaboration and economic relations between countries. I would like to highlight a thorough overview of the Finnish economy provided in the Confederation of Finnish Industries. The visit may be considered successful as it provided many new contacts that could facilitate in the development of business activities,“ concluded Sigrid Lainevee.
Currently there are around 1100 Finnish students studying in Estonian higher education institutions and the interest of Finnish students who are interested in getting a degree from Estonia is increasing every year. The most popular universities among Finnish students in Estonia are currently Estonian Business schools (348 students in 2013/2014 academic year), Tallinn University of Technology (334 students in 2013/2014), Tallinn University (146 students in 2013/2014), Estonian University of Life Sciences (137 students in 2013/2014) and University of Tartu (117 students in 2013/2014).
