EBS 25th Anniversary brought over 400 Alumni, employee and partner to Estonia

Estonian Business School that celebrated its 25th anniversary on the 7th December has during 25 years provided business education to over 4000 people from Estonia and elsewhere. EBS is among the Top 300 business schools in the world, according to Eduniversal ranking, EBS Alumni are most successful on Estonian labour market and EBS is at the moment only private university acting in Estonia as well as in Finland. Estonian Business School celebrated its anniversary on 7th December in Estonian Concert Hall with grandiose concert and reception where over 400 guests took part.

EBS 25th anniversary celebration began with the greetings from EBS Founder Professor Madis Habakuk, EBS Rector Professor Arno Almann and EBS Honorary Doctorates. The greetings were followed by musical and pictorial overview of EBS past, present and future. Especially for this event Estonian composer Siim Aimla produced a music piece that was first performed on the concert by different musicians. In between the musical performances animated clips of EBS history were shown. The concert was followed by reception, dinner and mingling. The celebration was designed as a symbolic review of EBS’s brightest moments and honoured everyone that has ever supported EBS in its 25 years.

EBS gave out three titles of Honorary Doctorates

During the EBS 25th anniversary celebration EBS gave out three Honorary Doctorate titles. The titles were handed to Siim Kallas the Vice President of European Commission, Professor Eero Vaara from Hanken University, Finland and Professor Sergey Myasoedov, Dean of one of the leading business school in Russia.

Professor Sergey Myasoedov is the Vice-Rector of the Russian Presidential Academy, Dean of the Institute of Business Studies (IBS-Moscow) and President of RABE (Russian Association on Business Education). Professor Myasoedov received the title for his contribution to developing business environment in Russia and for cooperation between Estonia and Russia in business education.

Siim Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission, was honoured as EBS Honorary Doctorate for his contribution to designing business environment in Estonia as well as Europe. Professor Eero Vaara works as a Professor of Management and Organization at Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki, Finland. He received the title for his contributions to research on organizational, strategic and institutional change and methodological issues in organization and management studies.

EBS has a tradition of honouring individuals who have achieved outstanding and internationally acclaimed results in research, teaching, culture, economics and politics. Honorary Doctorate degrees are awarded at a formal ceremony, with the presentations made by the dean or EBS Group President.
