Sisseastumisnõuded

Undergraduate diploma (or higher) Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent (Diploma of Professional Higher Education) in business management, economics or related fields from a recognized and accredited university, with a minimum of 60% of the highest possible CGPA during his/her last studies. In order to qualify for the studies at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, an applicant has to have at least 60% of the highest possible CGPA during his/her last studies. Applicants with Bachelor’s degree or professional Bachelor’s degree in other specialties are expected to have basic knowledge in management and economics and be prepared to undertake extra self-learning. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: inglise / eesti. The applicants are required to present the following documents: Completed application form You will receive an applicant code, which gives access to your account to track your application status. We ask you to upload electronic copies of all the required documents to your application. This makes the pre-processing of your application quicker. Copy of their secondary school leaving certificate (applicants from non-EU countries). inglise A recent* TOEFL Certificate: only internet-based test scores are accepted, with the minimum score being 60. The result must be sent directly to the University by the Educational Testing Service. TOEFL designated institution code for the Estonian University of Life Sciences is 7708. Or a recent* IELTS Certificate with the minimum score being 6.0; Or a recent* PTE (academic): minimum score: 51; Or a recent* First Certificate in English of the University of Cambridge; Or, in the case of previous studies in English, the diploma together with the transcript of records, where the medium of instruction is specified. *no more than five years old.

Muud nõuded

The mandatory admission requirement is a case study analysis. Case study analysis consists of a written and an oral part. The written assignment will be sent one hour before the interview to the email address indicated by the applicant and the applicant will fill in the written part of the analysis within a given time frame. The written part of the admission test consists of multiple-choice questions and open questions. The oral part is conducted as an interview (usually over BigBlueButton). There are additional questions about the case study as well as general questions about applicants’ academic goals and motivation. In order to qualify for the oral part, the candidate must score at least 50% in the written part. The case study used in the admission test is in the field of agricultural economics and policy. The admission test measures the candidate’s written and oral skills, and knowledge in the agriculture-related Business and economics. The time of the interview and practical arrangements will be discussed individually by e-mail. NB! Please have your passport at hand during the interview. In total, it is possible to collect 10 admission points: 5 points for the written part and 5 points for the interview. Specific requirements for Non-EU applicants: Copy of secondary school leaving certificate and transcript (from non-EU countries).

Overview

Agri-Food Business Management is a joint study programme of three Baltic universities that renders integrated theoretical knowledge and practical skills for understanding the agricultural and food market and managing agricultural and food industry businesses. Our partner universities are Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LLU) in Latvia and Aleksandras Stulginskis University (ASU) in Lithuania.

Studying agri-food business management will give you

• insights by the leaders of the most successful agricultural and food businesses and organizations in the Baltic States;
• competencies to perform successfully in the entire Baltic region and internationally;
• network with the current and future leaders of agricultural and food businesses in the Baltic States;
• experience cultural and business diversity of the three Baltic States.

Struktuur

The curriculum consists of following modules and Master’s thesis:
Economics Module 15 ECTS,
Leadership Module 15 ECTS,
Finance Module 15 ECTS,
Strategy Module 15 ECTS,
Operations Module 15 ECTS,
Marketing Module 15 ECTS,
Master’s thesis 30 ECTS.

First semester in Estonia
Agri-food economics & policy, bioeconomy, research strategies and methods, leadership, corporate culture and human resource development, cooperative management.
Second semester in Lithuania
Finance management, managerial accounting, and control, strategic management of agribusiness, agribusiness planning and evaluation of investment and development projects.
Third semester in Latvia
Operations and supply-chain management in agribusiness, innovation of food system, international agri-food business marketing, integrated marketing communication in agribusiness.
Fourth semester is dedicated to the Master’s thesis and shall take place at the admitting university (with the possibility to select supervisor from other associated universities).
