Entry qualification | Undergraduate diploma (or higher) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in science, technology, or engineering, encompassing at least 45 ECTS in mathematics, physics, chemistry, materials science or engineering. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Estonian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. It is required that you send verified copies of the entry qualification documents directly to the university by postal mail, according to the instructions given by the institution. Important! Never send original documents by post! Overview
Materials Science and Technology is a master’s programme with a focus on developing and commercialising new materials and their applications. Studies of materials science and the basics of entrepreneurship are combined with activities aimed at creating a product and its manufacturing technology.
The programme provides knowledge of theoretical principles of materials science, testing and investigation methods and development and design of materials. Students’ development projects are done in cooperation with scientific laboratories where they also perform the experimental part of their master’s thesis.
Career opportunities
Graduates can work as specialists developing materials in manufacturing enterprises or research institutions and laboratories. They have knowledge and skills to start and run new small and medium businesses handling with materials. Graduates are able to continue their studies at doctoral level.
