The University of Tartu has decided to provide extended application deadlines for international master’s studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

As the fragile situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic has affected international students’ willingness and possibilities to study abroad, the University of Tartu offers longer deadlines to apply for the international master’s programmes of two faculties. In the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, applications are accepted until 15 May. The Faculty of Social Sciences has provided two deadlines: applicants from the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom can submit applications until 30 June, and applicants from other countries until 15 May. In the Faculty of Science and Technology, the application period for international master’s studies ended on 15 March.

Student candidates who applied by 15 March are evaluated according to the initial schedule, i.e. their admission decisions are made in the first half of May. Stipends and tuition-waiver student places are also offered, on a priority basis, to those who submitted their application by 15 March. Therefore, the candidates who use the extended deadline should take it into consideration that in the case of a positive decision, the university will probably offer them a student-funded place.

Also, when you apply later, it is important to make sure that all the required documents are submitted together with the application during the additional period. The university will consider and evaluate only applications that are duly submitted within the application period.

For applications filed by 15 May, the university will make the admission decisions in the first half of June at the latest, and for applications filed to the Faculty of Social Sciences by 30 June, in the first half of July.

International applicants can submit their application via DreamApply. More information about the additional application deadlines is available on the website of the University of Tartu.
